Home Products RetroJ Overview

What is RetroJ?

RetroJ is a tool for Java source code conversion, downgrading from Java 6 to Java 1.3 or any versions in-between.

Why would I want to use it?

If you are stuck with an older JDK version as deployment platform, you get to avoid its limitations and finally write the state-of-the-art code you've been dreaming about.

And you still get to be in control - RetroJ works at source code level, not at bytecode level.

How does it work?

You run RetroJ from the command-line,

use it as an Eclipse plug-in,

or make its Ant task part of your building process.

The result is a separate folder, with converted source code that matches the original.

Give RetroJ a try with full support. For in-depth info, see the users guide.
